New Doors on the 9 House - May 7, 2010

New Apparatus Room Doors Being Installed

Starting Today crews will be working during the day to install new apparatus room doors on Engine Company 9's Quarters. The new doors which were graciously paid for by the Borough of Sharon Hill are all Tinted Glass with Red Trim and bottom panel. The new doors are also insulated which will save the Borough and Taxpayers money in the long run as it will not require as much energy to heat the Apparatus Room during the winter months. The doors are being installed by Overhead Doors which is also a local based Company from Folcroft, PA. Crews have been working with the representatives of Overhead Doors to allow access to the apparatus and Gear as to not disrupt the quality Fire Protection & Emergency Medical Services we currently provide to our residents from Station 9. The new doors will also let more light into the building during daytime hours which will also reduce the Cost of Electric during the daytime hours. The New doors just like the old doors will also be able to be manually opened if the Emergency Generator is not up and running before a call goes out. We would like to Thank the Borough of Sharon Hill, Borough Council, Borough Manager, and Citizens of the Borough of Sharon Hill for purchasing these new doors for the Fire Company.
