Engine Co 9 Runs 4th Working Fire in 3 Days

February 16th, 2011
Shortly before Midnight the Box assignment was struck out for 122 Isabel Ave, Glenolden for a reported Dwelling Fire. Engine9-2 & Engine9-1 quickly marked up on the response and arrived on location shortly after. Chief Benecke reported he had smoke showing from a 2.5 Story Twin with a possible attic fire. Crews from Engine 9-2 & 1 stretched an 1 3/4 handline to the fire floor, secured a water supply, and laddered the structure on Side A-Alpha. Ventilation was started and also began opening the exterior walls of a hipped gable to gain access to the seat of the Fire. Crews from Tower & Engine 5 continued opening up the same gable and also placing several cuts in the roof to locate the seat of fire. Engine Company 9 operated on scene for approx. 1 hour before picking up and returning to service.
